Sunlight--it warms us, burns us if we're not careful, and helps us make vitamin D. But for plants it does so much more. That's what I researched for this painting; photosynthesis, what that really means, what really happens. The plant depicted is an orchid that sat on the desk I used at work in a basement that didn't have a single window. It was winter, and we were both starved for sunlight. So I bathed it in that warm light in the painting until I could do so in reality.
This painting is on paper, and so is priced at about $2 per linear inch rather than $5 as the works on wood are.
